The collection

Each bottle presents a different design challenge, from intricate illustrative detail to vertical personalisation and precise geometric artwork. The examples show how bottle engraving can be adapted to the object rather than forced into a standard template.

  • Fine decorative artwork
  • Personal names and lettering
  • Contrasting colour-filled detail
  • Different bottle shapes and surfaces

Assessing each bottle

Bottle diameter, shoulders, moulded details, labels and existing branding determine the usable engraving area. Clear photographs and dimensions allow the available surface to be considered before the artwork is finalised. The glass itself must also be suitable for the intended work, particularly where the bottle is customer supplied.

Adapting artwork to curved glass

A design viewed flat will behave differently when wrapped around a bottle. Lettering, line work and decorative elements are scaled and positioned so the important detail remains visible from the main viewing angle. Fine artwork may need simplifying, while names and short messages can often be enlarged for stronger presentation.

Engraving and colour detail

The production approach is chosen around the bottle and design. Engraved areas can be left with their natural frosted appearance or enhanced with a contrasting colour where suitable. Colour-filled detail can emphasise lettering and illustration, but the balance must complement the original bottle rather than obscure its labels or character.

Consistency across several bottles

For a coordinated set, the position, scale and visual weight of the designs are checked across every item. Where bottle shapes differ, exact repetition is not always possible, so the layouts are adjusted to create a related appearance. Each completed bottle is inspected for clean detail, alignment and an even overall finish.
